What TheirDesk is

TheirDesk, operated by 원청크(onechunk) (“we”), gives automated feedback on essays you have already written. It scores them, marks the lines a reader would stop on, and asks questions. On a small number of those lines it also shows one edited version of a sentence you wrote, as a demonstration of the change the note describes. That demonstration may use only words already present in your draft, and each essay gets at most 6 of them in total, counted across every draft you send, never reset. We do not write essays, draft essays, or rewrite essays. We are not a writing service and we do not sell written work. What you submit to any institution is your own writing and your own decision. We do not predict or influence any admission decision. Feedback is generated by language models against a fixed rubric and may be wrong.

Your work stays yours

You keep all rights to anything you paste in. You give us only the permission needed to store it, run the read, and show it back to you. We do not use your essays to train models, and we do not show them to other users.

Academic honesty

TheirDesk is feedback, in the same category as a teacher’s margin notes. You are responsible for the honesty policies of the schools you apply to. Do not paste in essays that are not yours.

Purchases

A purchase opens a fixed number of essay slots (1 for one essay, 6 for the bundle) in your account. Each slot allows unlimited re-reads of one essay. Prices are in US dollars; applicable sales tax is added at checkout by our payment provider, which is the merchant of record for the transaction.

Refunds

If a read fails to generate for an essay, contact us within seven days of purchase and we will refund the purchase once. Because a read is delivered in full the moment it is generated, we do not otherwise offer refunds on reads that were delivered. A complete read of a sample essay is published on the site, free and without an account, so you can see exactly what you are buying first.

Accounts

You must be at least thirteen to use TheirDesk. Keep your Google account secure. You can delete your account and everything in it by emailing youredit.email@gmail.com; we delete within thirty days.

Limits of liability

The service is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for admission outcomes.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Questions: youredit.email@gmail.com.
